Tested 1 Terabit per second network speed right on the actual internet connection
Previously, the speed of 1.4 Terabit / s was only achieved in the laboratory.
Three research centers: Nokia Bell Labs, Deutsche Telekom T-Labs and Munich University of Technology have made a breakthrough in achieving extremely high internet speeds. The research team says that the speed at which they reach is up to 1 terabit per second.
The terabit datum is said to be "theoretically the maximum data transfer rate" available on fiber optic lines, according to the research team. The extremely high speed is achieved by modifying the network delivery rate, so that it can "adapt to the condition of the network channel and the amount of traffic required". Instead of a straight line to see how far the transmission rate is, this approach is a smarter approach to achieving the terabit speed mark in a sustained range.
The research team says that the speed at which they reach is up to 1 terabit per second.
To make it easier for you to imagine, the network speed of up to 1 terabit will deliver 125 GB per second. And so, according to the hypothesis, you can download 25 movies weighing 5 GB each movie in just a second. Previously, researchers have achieved super fast network speeds but this is an important milestone, when this terabit speed is achieved on a real internet network .
This means that this network is fully applicable in real life.
In the previous study, connecting up to 1.4 Tb was achieved by UK scientists a few years ago, but is using multiple connections and installations in a controlled lab environment.
Even so, we still have no immediate connection to the terabit in the future, but the network service providers will definitely pay attention to this potential connection. Wireless network 5G is knocking on the door, they need a network that can download huge bandwidth and this is a bright candidate.
