The 5,000-year-old fist couple remains in Russia

A research team found two sets of remains in the fist posture originating about 4,500-5,000 years ago in Siberia, Russia.

According to the International Business Times, the team from Irkutsk National Technical Research University unearthed the remains of a couple in the holding position in Siberia, Russia. They believe they originated around 4,500-5,000 years ago, belonging to the Glazkov culture during the Bronze Age.

Two skeletons were found in the ancient sacred burial place, overlooking Lake Baikal.

"It is certainly a sacred place for the ancient people. It is not a settlement but used for religious ceremonies and an ancient graveyard , " said Dr Dmitry Kichigin, the curator. excavated, said.

The skeleton of the man was found intact, while the upper part of the woman was destroyed by rodents. Interestingly, they are buried with many precious objects. The team unearthed the red deer-shaped pendant and the muscular deer's teeth in the skull and around the man's legs.

The most special artifact is a large jade knife lying next to the woman. It is 13cm long, 7cm wide and is controversial for experts on the purpose of use and the reason it was placed in the grave.

These artifacts will provide more information about Glazkov's culture and their burial rituals for scientists.

"We are fortunate to find at least one intact skeleton and many tools and decorations. This is the dream of many archaeologists," Kichigin said.
