Jyoti Kumar, 62, of Madhya Pradesh (India) was pregnant in 1978 when she was 24 years old. At that time, the doctors said the baby was outside the womb of her mother, so there was very little chance of life. Fearing to think about having surgery, she escaped from the hospital and sought treatment for pain. A few months later, this woman believed she was completely normal.

38 years later, Jyoti suffered persistent abdominal pain for two months and went to a hospital in Nagpur (India). Doctors found a lump in the abdomen and worried that the woman might have cancer."However, the MRI results show that this block is the skeleton of a baby," said Dr. Mohammad Yunus Shah, NKP Salve Medical Institute.

After this skeletal removal surgery, the doctors stunned the search in the literature to see if there was any similar case and as a result there was only one case of 18-year ectopic pregnancy in Belgium.

"We believe this may be the longest-lasting case of a baby in the abdomen, a record of 38 years," Dr. Shah said.
