The book is so small that it cannot be read with the naked eye.

The book is tiny, 22 pages thick and is called 'Shiki no Kusabana' (seasonal flowers). Each book page includes names and illustrations of Japanese flowers such as peach blossom, plum blossom .

Toppan printing company, which publishes the book, says the pages are only 0.75mm in size and cannot be seen with the naked eye. The characters are 0.01mm in size, written in the same technology as the money printers used to prevent spoofing.

Toppa said it would send an application to organize Guinness records for their book to be recognized as the world's smallest.

Currently the world's smallest book is Chameleon, 30 pages thick and 0.9mm in size, created by Russian artist Anatoly Konenko in 1996.

The book 'Shiki no Kusabana' is on display at the Toppan Printing Museum in Tokyo and is sold with a magnifying glass and a larger version for $ 307.

Toppan company has begun to release micro-books since 1964.
