Take the test sample without a syringe

Perm city scientists in Russia, together with US colleagues, invented an alternative to conventional syringes.

According to the Voice of Russia, a Russian University of Perm science group, along with US colleagues, invented a new device in principle to take samples. The device is called 'micro needle automatic' - Micro Needle , is a small polymer plate. Its size is similar to a pin. On this polymer sheet, 100 hollow needles are arranged.

With this device, one can take fluid from the subcutaneous layer. Research results conducted by Permian scientists in 2013 showed that, in some indicators, this fluid is comparable to blood to perform the necessary analysis, not from the patient's blood. .

Thanks to this invention, it is possible to inject drugs without giving the patients psychological fear and pain.

In addition, experts say that the use of syringes is not economically beneficial because the cost of handling a syringe is 2.5 times higher than the cost of producing it. And the Micro Needle device doesn't require processing.

In addition, 'micro needles' can be used to transfer drugs into cells, ie injections. However, experts say, micro needle devices cannot completely replace the syringe. But, they are very useful in some areas of medicine, for example, pediatrics. In the near future, new products will be tested on volunteers.
