The cobra of the hungry prey swallowed the same kind
The hungry cobra grabs a water snake in South Africa's park and takes nearly an hour to swallow its prey.
Amateur photographer Thinus van Staden caught a cannibal cobra in Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park wildlife park in South Africa, reported on October 21. Staden said his place is only 20 meters away from the snake.
"The opportunity to shoot this series comes as a big surprise. I am the only one to witness the incident. It was a hot day of the day, so most people are resting in the camp," Staden said. "I am fortunate to not be bitten by a cobra. I have never encountered a similar sight at such a close distance," Staden said.
Cobra is one of the world's most poisonous snakes. They often eat small vertebrates such as lizards, rats and sometimes eat the same kind. The cobra's prey in Staden's photo shoot is a popular snake water in southern Africa.
