The computer mouse father died at the age of 88
The information technology world has just lost a great brain, a true pioneer yesterday, that is inventor Douglas Engelbart who died at the age of 88.
Engelbart gradually weakened and died when he was still in sleep. - His daughter, Christina, told friends in an email.
Engelbart was born on January 30, 1925. Engelbart is known as the father of a range of modern information technologies, including computer mice that are being used daily.
More than 50 years ago, Engelbart joined the Stanford Research Institute (SRI) - Where many of his breakthrough computer studies will take place.
Among his inventions made at SRI are computer mice, bitmap screens, hypertext, networked computers and elements of a modern network connection later, GUI interface.
Engelbart arrived at the peak of a relatively early IT career, on a 1968 winter afternoon, when he gave an hour-long presentation with a wide variety of ideas called " Mother of all demos ".
