According to Anhui Business Daily, more than 80% of Chinese hotpot spices are sold on the market. The country mixes many chemicals such as chilli extracts, flavoring additives, red products. Some additives also contain heavy metals such as violet jelly, lead ., which damage the nervous and digestive systems of people who eat them, leading to the risk of neurological disorders as well as the cancer.
