In the face of red-ear tortoises in Vietnam, there have been many environmental disasters caused by foreign animals in the world. In some places, officials have to hang millions of dollars to find ways to eliminate strange creatures.

Sugar cane

In 1935, sugar cane toad was imported from Hawaii to Australia to destroy sugar beetle beetles. However, they quickly became pests and became the terror of Australia.

Appropriate habitat has made sugar cane toads grow at a dizzying speed. According to estimates by florists, the animal reached 200 million in 2007 and occupied 75% of Australian territory in 2008.

Sugarcane toads can destroy the ecosystem where they live very high. An adult cane toad is very large (more than 20 cm long, weighs nearly 1 kg). Sugar cane is very voracious. They eat all kinds of creatures it finds. In addition, sugarcane toads also compete for food, breeding places with native amphibians, causing serious ecological imbalance.

State governments in Australia devastated by sugar cane toads have declared war on this animal. In particular, Queensland governor Peter Beattie announced that he would award a million-dollar prize to a scientist who finds poison to destroy or inhibit the growth of sugarcane toad.

North American pandas

North American pandas were introduced to Germany in 1934 for the purpose of raising feathers. During the Second World War, this animal escaped into the wildest and fastest growing environment.

North American pandas can live anywhere like forests, farms, suburbs, inner cities. As omnivores, from frogs, fish, mice, birds, or even fruits and seeds, even some snakes are their source of food.

Infiltrate Germany, pandas live in cities and towns. They eat food in trash, sleep in chimneys, sewers, or occupy a car garage, attic. Once occupied by the panda, chasing them away is a very difficult thing.

White catfish

The white catfish has the scientific name Clarias batrachus. This fish is native to East Asia, including Vietnam. They are raised to serve food needs.

In 1960, they entered Florida and quickly adapted and developed. White catfish is the enemy of many Florida native fishes. In particular, in the dry season, when they are concentrated in some ponds, they are capable of eating native fish.

Sea bass Nile

In 1954, sea bass Nile was introduced into Lake Victoria. Victoria is Africa's largest freshwater lake, second in the world in the borders of Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania. The lake has an area of ​​69,000 km² and a circumference of 3,440 km.
