The first electric plane of China
The RX1E is China's first electric plane to receive a qualification flight from the Civil Aviation Authority.
The aircraft was built by two scientists at the Liaoning Aerospace Academy with a maximum takeoff weight of 500kg and a top speed of 120km / h. It can reach altitude of nearly 3,000m. According to China Daily, this is the first civilian aircraft of China to be certified by the Civil Aviation Authority of this country qualified for flight. The signing ceremony was held Feb. 6 at Shenyang Aerospace University, Liaoning Province. In the future, China is expected to mass production, serving domestic and international demand.
The electric plane costs 980,000 yuan ($ 156,000). The cost per hour is only about 20 yuan. "In three years, we plan to produce about 100 units a year , " said Yang Fengtian.
Yang's advantage is its ease of use and maintenance, low operating costs, and high levels of safety. It can serve many purposes such as patrol, flight training, recreation, survey mapping.
