NASA tested all-electric X-57 Maxwell aircraft

The US space agency (NASA) has just completed the prototype of the plane running X-57 Maxwell. This first electric aircraft was sent to NASA's California Research Center for testing.

Fabrication and testing project of X-57 Maxwell. published in 2014, is part of NASA's pioneering line of aircraft development plans.

According to Fox News, NASA began testing the integrated electric motor system, ensuring the aircraft's air capabilities. The results will be published immediately, meeting specific certification standards for electric aircraft.

X-57 project director Tom Rigney said the X-57 Maxwell appearance is an important event for NASA, as this will be a transition to the testing phase of this ambitious plan.

The first test will be run on the ground. At this time, NASA does not know how long the entire test program will take.

The goal of the X-57 project is to develop an electric aircraft line that meets the certification standards for urban air transport, based on complex distributed electric motor systems.

Another American company, Kitty Hawk, is also building small electric planes the size of a car. The aircraft was built for personal use, capable of taking off and landing vertically.

The power reserve allows the aircraft to travel at a distance of 160 km. The aircraft has a wingspan of 6 m. The sound of this electric plane is 100 times lower than that of conventional helicopters.

Kitty Hawk introduced the electric plane in 2017, but many technical requirements have yet to be met. Boeing experts are actively working to complete the test of this 'personal electric aircraft' line.
