The first meteorite plunged into Earth during the year

Astronomers say a small meteorite plunges into the atmosphere of Earth on January 2, after being discovered just a day earlier.

The meteorite was named by the scientists as 2014 AA because it was the first meteorite discovered this year. The asteroid center reports that meteorites have plunged into the Earth's atmosphere around 5:00 pm on January 2 (international time).

Meteors are guessed by astronomers about 1 to 5 meters across and are thought to be burned in the Atlantic sky, possibly off the coast of West Africa.

This is the second time astronomers have discovered a meteorite just before it flies into the Earth's atmosphere. The first time was in 2008, when a named 2008 TC3 celestial body was burned in the sky of Sudan in Africa. Like 2014 AA, the 2008 TC3 meteorite was discovered just a day before it plunged to Earth.

Astronomers at the 2008 Mountain Observatory TC3 used a 150cm diameter telescope in Arizona State to determine the 2014 AA meteorite on January 1. Other astronomers quickly confirmed the existence of this meteorite. The meteorite flight trajectory shows that it is very close to the Earth and getting closer and closer.

According to Pasquale Tricarico astronomer, meteorites have plunged into the dark side of the Earth. Despite this, he was unsure of the time and place it flew into our planetary atmosphere, because only 7 observed before the meteorite disappeared.

Calculations by astronomer Bill Gray show that meteorites 2014 AA flew into the Earth atmosphere in the region between Africa and Central America.
