In vitro fertilization method of two scientists Patrick Steptoe and Robert Edwards helped Brown successfully give birth to two daughters Louise and Natalie.
Dr. Steptoe and GS. Edwards founded Bourn Hall in Cambridge two years after Louise Brown was born. Now, this clinic has become the basis for implementing IVF (fertilization of eggs outside the body and then implanting embryos into the mother's body) in the world, bringing hope to many millions. GS. Robert Edwards was awarded the Nobel Prize for Medicine in 2010 for creating the technique that is considered to be 'the turning point of modern medicine'.
