The first seawater refinery in Central Vietnam

On the morning of May 4, the seawater refinery factory was started to build in An Binh commune, Ly Son island district (Quang Ngai). This is a gift from Korea to the islanders.

The factory has a capacity of 200m ³ a day and night, can provide every family in An Binh island commune 400 liters of water per day.

With a total investment of more than one million USD, the factory includes the following items: Input seawater storage tank, freshwater output tank, sea water pipeline system from offshore into storage tank, first water pipe system from the reservoir to the water distribution center for households .

This seawater filtration system is designed in modular form and neatly installed in a container, applying the technology of separating salt and vaporization by reverse osmosis method.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology of Vietnam Nguyen Van Lang shared: "The seawater refinery plant not only opens the prospect of freshwater resources for the waters of Quang Ngai island but also many island areas. difficult areas to return to Vietnam in Vietnam ".

Vice-Minister Lang hoped that seawater filtration projects would help the islanders to ease their thirst for fresh water.

An Binh island commune has about 112 households with more than 500 people, all year round uses rainwater stored in tanks and tanks. In the dry season, people's lives are extremely poor, deserted land due to the serious shortage of fresh water. There is a shortage of electricity to light up the living.

A Korean enterprise, a sponsor of the seawater refinery project, also supports two generators with a capacity of 128kWh for the commune.
