The first to build submarines in Vietnam
After many years working for a French submarine-closing firm, Phan Boi Tran returned to Vietnam in 2006 to research and successfully build submarines.
Mr. Phan Boi Tran is the descendant of Phan Boi Chau. In 1974, at the age of 20, Tran went to France to study chemistry at the University of Marseille, then specialized in composite and engineering plastics. In 1978, after graduating from university, Mr. Tran stayed in France to work for firms specializing in making submarines and helicopter shells. In 1988, at the invitation of the Libyan Embassy in France, Mr. Tran went to this country to assist the Ministry of Defense in drawing and engineering submarine casing techniques.
In 2006, he returned to Vietnam to set up a company to design machines, hulls, electric bicycles, children's toys .
