Prepare to build the first natural history museum in Vietnam

Vietnam has many rare plants and animals

Mr. Vu Tuyen Hoang, Chairman of Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, said that in our country there is not yet any natural and historical history museum. While in developed countries they have been around for centuries. Vietnam wants to develop comprehensively and catch up with advanced countries, it needs to be built immediately, although it is still a bit late now.

After many discussions and discussions with the HCM City People's Committee, the city leader decided to spend about 30 hectares in the Vietnam National Cultural Park in District 9 to build a museum. At present, scientists have 3 hectares to build a nursery to produce specialty plants for museums, including bamboo, rare plants, woody plants .

Mr. Hoang said Vietnam Museum of Natural History will be very large scale. Drawing on experiences from museums around the world and based on the characteristics of Vietnam, the museum will bring both national and modern characteristics of the 21st century.

Here, the samples and models related to flora and fauna, microorganisms, environment, space, earth, continent, sea . will be displayed. Specimens, including samples live, will be arranged in a systematic way. In addition to sightseeing, people are also educated about biodiversity, environmental awareness . The museum is also a place to hold conferences with experts at home and abroad. Students and researchers can also come here to study materials and conduct experiments to serve their research projects.

" The museum will be a combination of education and scientific research, while helping foreigners understand more about Vietnam's natural history, " Mr. Hoang said.

In the future there will be tens of thousands of exhibits. Currently, the collection is still rushing, foreign partners are also ready to provide samples for Vietnam. To prepare for the museum, scientific staff and managers are also being trained. The construction of the museum will last for many years, so it will be completed, it will open to visit there.

At the end of this month, the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations will hold a meeting with the HCM City People's Committee to discuss the construction of the nursery for the museum. Scientists hope the nursery will be completed this year and the museum will officially open in the next few years.
