The group of rowers suddenly discovered a giant creature in the water, seriously injured!

A group of three people were sailing in the town of Melkbosstrand on the South West Coast of South Africa when they suddenly discovered a "huge" creature below. This creature has a very long body and swims close to the surface of the water, then even sticks its tentacles onto the boat.

However, more surprisingly, the creature was so badly injured that its skin was peeled off in a large patch. Realizing this, a man in the group used a rope to tie this creature to the shore.

This is a giant squid and it has been badly injured.

It turned out that this creature was a giant squid (scientific name is Architeuthis). It was very badly wounded and drifted on the shore for a long time in a dying state. So when it saw the boat, it instinctively sought to cling to it.

This is a male squid because when pulled ashore, it shoots sperm as a last resort to maintain the breed in the hope that the sperm will meet the eggs of a female nearby. Its wound may have been caused by a shark or whale before.

The giant squid is a large squid that lives in the deep oceans of the North Atlantic and North Pacific oceans. They have 8 short tentacles and 2 long tentacles with sizes ranging from 10 to 13 meters. The natural enemy of giant squid is sperm whale (scientific name: Physeter macrocephalus).
