The lightest baby born in the world
Born in the 26th week of pregnancy with a weight of 0.23 kg, Emilia (Germany) became the world's lightest premature baby.
"Even children weighing 0.4 kg are difficult to survive," Emilia's doctor is Sven Schiermeier from Witten Hospital (Germany). "We have to thank her for fighting tenaciously." Usually, the 26-week-old fetus weighs about 0.6kg.

According to CEN, Schiermeier and his colleagues decided to rescue Emilia because the placenta did not provide enough nutrients to put the baby at risk of dying in the womb. Although his death ability is very high, his parents Lukas and Sabine Grabarczyk still decide not to give up.
After the operation, the doctors gave Emilia a small tube and wrapped it in sugar-soaked cotton to relieve the pain. Girls underwent abdominal surgery when reaching a weight of 0.3kg."There are countless difficulties and tears, but obviously I really want to live," Sabine choked.
Currently Emilia is 9 months old, weighs 3kg and is stronger than before. Due to premature birth, she is more likely to have hyperactivity and poor learning, but so far no serious symptoms have appeared.
Prior to Emilia, Rumaisa Rahman (USA) was the world's lightest premature baby when the 25th week of pregnancy was born and weighed 0.24kg.
