According to Star Telegram, on January 4, Brian had a high fever and was diagnosed with pneumonia. Only 24 hours later, the doctor informed the patient's family that the pneumonia was accompanied by influenza and the 51-year-old man was in septic shock . Because of blood clotting syndrome , Brian's body appeared blood clots, causing blood circulation to be hindered. A few weeks passed, unable to do anything else, the medical team had to remove the feet and nine fingers of the patient.

"Flu is really dangerous," Brain's wife Jaye warned. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that this year, the country has about 710,000 cases and 56,000 deaths.

Brian is still in the intensive care room and will be fitted with prosthetic hands."He is a man of faith. We all believe that God will help Brian overcome and bring good things," Jaye said.
