The Center for Materials Technology - Institute of Technology Applications has studied this type of prosthetic since 2000. At the same time, POF placed an order for the Center for Materials Technology to produce prosthetics to supply this organization with an order price of 13-15 USD / foot.

Each year, the Center for Materials Technology produces and supplies about 500-600 carbon composite plastic prosthetic products to foreign customers such as Hope Hand (USA), Vietnam Association for Disabled Relief, Organization. US Offline Orthopedic (POF).

The Center for Materials Technology currently only produces shin and two main details of the knee joint. The remaining accessories will be completed by the Center for Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Technology (Ha Tay) to suit each specific case of each patient.

For the domestic market, since the product of this carbon composite composite leg shank, the Center has assembled about 500 feet. However, the number of people with carbon composite plastic prostheses is mainly funded by humanitarian organizations. For other people with disabilities who are entitled to policy, plastic prostheses have not been assembled due to a higher price than wooden legs, so it has not been approved by the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.
