The method of building a house against earthquakes is less expensive

Engineers have built a two-storey building with a monolithic design, with the main material being plaster walls and wooden frames. But instead of using screws to attach the gypsum board to the wood frame, they use a sturdy glue and reinforce the facade of the house with a durable mesh.
More specifically, the house does not use conventional foundations but is placed on a " seismic isolation " platform, consisting of 12 steel and plastic sliders, each with a diameter of 11.4 cm, and below. are galvanized steel sheets very solid.
The prototype house was tested in a 6.9-magnitude quake. As a result, homes with seismic isolation slides from left to right without compromising. Although the principle of seismic isolation is not new, the point in Stanford's construction method is that it is less expensive and easier to construct.
According to the engineers, an earthquake resistant house with an area of 185 square meters only costs about $ 15,000 (more than 319 million).
