The million dollar robot

Scientists have developed a robot capable of handling dairy cows as well as humans.

The four-wheel robotic remote control named Rover is a product of scientists at the University of Sydney Australia designed to crowd dairy cows from field to cage.

'Cows are willing to accept robots and are easily manipulated,' ' wrote Dan Kara of ARISPlex. 'A herd of 20-150 cows is easily assembled.'

Kendra Kerrisk, an associate professor at the University of Sydney, says Rover's cows move at their speed. Thus, it avoids a lot of risk for the cattle being injured.

While the current version of the Rover is still human-driven, scientists claim that future versions will be fully automatic.

In addition to the Rover version, in addition to herding cattle, Rover can also undertake tasks such as surveying, soil sampling, security monitoring.

Currently, Rover is only in prototype form and is sold for $ 1 million, however, within the next 2 years, Rover's commercial products will be sold at lower prices.
