The mysterious story of ethnicity suddenly disappeared 160 years ago
In the history of mankind there are mysteries that still cannot be answered. The story of Easter Islanders is a good example.
Off the southeast Pacific there is a very famous island now owned by Chile. It is Easter Island - recognized as a World Heritage by UNESCO.
Many people know about Easter Island because of the 887 giant stone statues of human faces (called Moai). Of course, these rocks are not natural, so it will be evidence that the island used to be a place where people lived very prosperously.
The ancient Rapa Nui people have erected famous face statues.
It is known that the Moai were created by the ancient Rapa Nui people , and they lived separately from the world for thousands of years on this island. However, in the 1860s, people on the island suddenly disappeared mysteriously, but so far people have not been able to answer.
There are many hypotheses given about this mysterious disappearance: from epidemics, excessive deforestation, or internal conflict. In it, the most accepted opinion is that these people have destroyed themselves when devastating nature so much that the environment on the island becomes " uninhabitable ".
Specifically, history shows that the ancient Rapa Nui people came to the island in 1200. By the early 18th century when Europeans arrived, the forests on the island were nearly wiped out. The number of trees is used to build boats and help the islanders catch fish.

Then when the tree was no longer available, the boat was no longer available, the islanders could no longer take fish and switched to growing on land. But due to uncontrolled cultivation, the land on the island seriously eroded. Eventually everything collapsed, the Rapa Nui people were isolated in a secluded land in the absence of food, and they fell into extinction.
But the mystery doesn't stop there .
Because recently, a study from Binghamton University (USA) completely rejected this hypothesis. Experts say that the hypothesis does not have enough convincing evidence.
Specifically, when analyzing the chemical composition at the relics of Rapa Nui people, the expert team found that more than half of the protein in their daily diets comes from seafood. This proves that Rapa Nui people have never stopped fishing.
"The evidence also shows that the land they use to cultivate is land that has been transformed into composition, that is, they have renovated the land for better farming" - Carl Lipo, professor of archeology at Binghamton University for know.
The ancient Rapa Nui came to this island in 1200.
This proves that Rapa Nui people have knowledge and cultivation and cultivation, so the ability of their agricultural system to collapse is also very difficult.
So what happened on Easter Island? Since this new study, the story has fallen into mystery. Maybe due to natural disasters, or a certain force appeared? Only knowing that this story is still one of the unresolved mysteries in the history of humanity.
