A resident named Susan Sheard said she had never experienced anything like that in 10 years on the coast.

"Some fish are still alive, they flipped around. I threw a few fish back in the sea, but they were too many to throw away," Susan recalls.

After that, all the fish lying on the beach mysteriously disappeared.

Even the environmental experts were equally puzzled by this mysterious phenomenon. Jeff Johnson, the Queensland fisheries expert, said the event was "very unusual".

The beach is empty when thousands of fish disappear mysteriously.

"It is difficult to speculate the cause of this strange phenomenon, especially when not conducting surveys and inspections," Mr. Johnson added.

The Ministry of Environment and Heritage, the Queensland Museum cannot explain this phenomenon. The representative of the Ministry checked the beaches but found no dead fish.
