Giant moon fish drifted to the coast of Indonesia
Fishermen in Palu, Central Sulawesi, Indonesia were surprised to see a giant moon fish drifting ashore.
Giant moonfish die in carpet because of stranding
This giant moonfish weighs 1.5 tons and is 1.8 meters long.
The fishermen tried to pull the fish back to the sea.
However, the waves hit the fish several times and it died.
Moon fish is known to be the heaviest vertebrate fish in the world.
This "sea monster" has a round oval.
Although the body is large but with a limp body structure, the moon fish swim weakly;most of the time, they only let the mass of their bodies float freely according to the currents.
Although large, the moon's mouth is very small. With such a special mouth, they cannot swallow big lures but only eat small crustaceans and plankton.
