Find the mysterious missing ship in the Arctic

Canada yesterday announced the discovery of a shipwreck, believed to be one of two ships of the Royal Navy that disappeared 170 years ago in the sea.

According to Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, wrecks are located using an underwater device and remote control. It is located near King William Island, about 1,900km from Toronto. The wreck is one of two British Royal ships, once missing along with 128 sailors on a journey through the Arctic ice.

Ryan Harris, an underwater archaeologist, said the ship's floor structures were quite intact, including the main mast - the deformed part when the ship sank and hit the ice.

HMS Erebus and HMS Terror were last seen in 1845, under the command of Rear Admiral John Franklin. The Royal Navy expedition seeks the legendary Northwest corridor, a route through the Arctic Ocean, along the coast of the North American continent to connect the Pacific and Atlantic Ocean.

The Telegraph said that the disappearance of HMS Erebus and HMS Terror had led to the largest search activities in history at that time, from 1848 to 1859. In 1854, the Inuit hunters once said two children. The ship was jammed with ice. The sailor's escape attempt is defeated by the power of frost.

Shipwreck information is confirmed based on underwater image search and analysis. Video footage of inside the shipwreck was published by the National Park of Canada, directly under the Canadian government and published by the Ministry of Environment.
