The nearly 10,000-year-old Shigir statue in Russia is considered the oldest wooden statue in the world, twice the age of the Egyptian pyramid, and contains many unanswered mysteries.

According to Ancient Origins, the Shigir wooden statue placed in a Russian museum, dating to nearly 10,000 years old, is the oldest wooden statue in the world. It is 4,000 to 5,000 years older than Stonehenge in England and twice the age of the Egyptian pyramid. Some researchers believe that geometric symbols and strange signs engraved on the statue contain encrypted information about the Middle Stone Age world.

The Shigir statue was discovered in January 1890, in the Sverdlovsk region, the western edge of Siberia, Russia . It consists of many debris lying in a 4 meter long sheath, underneath the marsh peat in the gold mine. It is thanks to this peat yard that the wooden statue avoids the impact of bacteria, does not rot and remains relatively intact after millennia.

Russian professor Dmitry Lobanov draped a fragment of a 2.8-meter statue. In 1914, Vladimir Tolmachev, a Siberian archaeologist, carefully recorded all the statue fragments through a sketch and calculated its original height of 5.3 meters. A 2m long statue was stolen after experiencing political upheaval in Russia in the 20th century.

Shigir wood statue carved with rudimentary stone tools on larch wood. The trunk of pine wood is rectangular, flat, contains many horizontal lines in the middle, representing the ribs. According to the researchers, there are seven representative faces in this statue. On wooden surfaces there are geometric symbols such as V-shaped, fishbone, straight lines, doodles, and many other abstract symbols.

Some people said that the statue's face carries the coding information of the Middle Stone Age people. This is also a way for the ancients to pass on the primitive awareness of the origins of people and the world to the next generation. Others believe the statue is an ancient map. Straight lines, wavy lines, and arrows indicate how to get to a place and the number of days of the journey.
