Secret of the red pyramid in Egypt: After 141 years of decoding a part

The red pyramid in Egypt was first discovered in 1839. This building is located in Dahshur, 40km south of Cairo.

The red pyramid was built during the Pharaoh Sneferu dynasty to make the pharaoh tomb, located 1km north of the pyramid. It is built at an angle of 43 degrees with the head of the curved pyramid.

Pyramid surfaces are as flat as other pyramids. Archaeologists speculate that the ancient people originally planned to build two pyramids for Pharaoh Sneferu.

The first pyramid, the Meidum pyramid, collapsed in ancient times. The second pyramid is a curved pyramid, with an angle of 54 ° to 43 ° in the middle of the building.

Perring, the British, first discovered the red pyramid in 1839. He made the first measurements and opened the entrance to the rooms inside.

Some archaeologists have studied and excavated this area, but it was not until 1980, after 141 years, that German archaeologists, led by R. Stadelmann, conducted detailed research on the project. this.

Thanks to that, it is clear that the Red Pyramid dates from 2582 BC. The red pyramid has an entrance to the north, going into 3 rooms inside.

The entrance leads to the lower corridor, only 1.2 m high and steep. Going deeper than 60 m, the horizontal swing corridor is 7m long, leading to the first room.

This room has a rectangular foundation of 8.36 × 3.65 m with a vaulted ceiling about 12.3 m high. On the opposite wall is the entrance to the second room with the same area, but is more west than the previous room. This position is the second room located just below the central axis of the pyramid.

The third room has a passage through the upper part of the opposite wall of the second room. It should be said that the Red Pyramid was built from east to west, unlike the former from north to south.

There are no stone coffins in the rooms. In the third room, there was a man's remains, possibly belonging to Pharaoh Sneferu, but there was not enough clear evidence to confirm that.

Some archaeologists think that the pharaoh was buried in this last room, but was abused by grave robbers.

They only found the wooden sarcophagus containing the king's mummy. The thief burned the coffin without any treasure. On the remains and in the room, there was a clear trace of fire.

Previously, the German research group discovered that the red pyramid was built to cover the top of the stone, although it was broken into pieces, but it could be restored.

The pyramid crest is a piece of Tura limestone 1.57 m long, more inclined than the pyramid and the only vestige of the old Kingdom.
