According to a reporter in Latin America, speaking to reporters on October 22, Peru's Minister of Culture Patricia Balbuena said the ancient sculptures said 19 wooden statues with clay masks and were found. seen in an Utzh An area in pre-Columbo Chan Chan ancient town. She stressed that this is the result of Peruvian archaeologists, conservationists and engineers.

Also at the archaeological site mentioned above, Peruvian officials announced the discovery of a wall of clay mud decorated with embossed sea motifs and a cat-shaped creature.

Utzh An is an archaeological cluster located in the La Libertad state of Peru, and part of Chan Chan, the city is built from the largest continent of the continental Americas, once considered the center of Chimu culture. , civilization developed at the coast of Central and Northern Peru between the twelfth and fifteenth centuries. This civilization disappeared when the Incas conquered around 1470.

The Peruvian government has spent more than US $ 2.4 million in its budget to restore Utzh An. This regional restoration project started in June 2017 and is expected to be completed in May 2020.
