The 'newborn' of the universe

Astronomers have just released a new 'newborn' image of the universe, when it was 375,000 years old.

The picture took the sky over a 9-year long collection of data collected by the crew, now "retired" , as WMAP.

WMAP was launched into orbit in 2001, from where it moved gradually to a point about 1.6 million kilometers from the earth, in the direction opposite the sun.

In this process, it scans the skies, mapping the 'hot' regions of the universe when young with high precision, according to Space.com.

The result is a photograph of the temperature of the radiation remaining after the Big Bang event, at a time when the new universe was about 375,000 years old.

Based on changes in microwave radiation, expressed in color, astronomers can predict some of the later developments of the universe, thereby giving high-precision hypotheses about the origin and nature of the universe.
