The scientific invention helps the poor

The owner of the award-winning products in the Tra Vinh Technical Innovation Competition is Mr. Nguyen Hoang Nam (43 years old, living in Ngu Lac commune, Duyen Hai district, Tra Vinh province) , and Mr. Nguyen Hoang Nam only has by intermediate vocational training.

'Duyen' with electromechanical

After finishing secondary school, Nam had to quit school to work as a laborer due to difficult family circumstances. In the nights when the shrimp hut for the owner at the sea side, Nam thought that the more the society developed, the farmers not only had electric light but also had to know how to apply many machines and equipment for the better life tomorrow. . Nam asked his family to go to secondary school for electromechanics.

At the age of 22, the family collected 800,000 dong for Nam to rent an apartment to study in the middle of an electromechanical vocational school in Can Tho. It is also the only amount that Nam receives from his family until he finishes his secondary education. During his studies, Nam worked as a hired laborer. After finishing school, Nam returned to work as a maintenance service for many companies in Tra Vinh province and married.

Salary is not enough to support his wife and children, Nam goes to Saigon as a mechanical maintenance for a company in a building in the center of District 1. Nam said : 'At that time, I was rewarded for discovering that the fire system was malfunctioning, so I strongly proposed and successfully upgraded my own fire protection system very effectively for the company to use'.

In 2002, Nam asked to go to Duyen Hai's hometown to do maintenance at Sao Bien Seafood Company, specializing in making frozen fish for export. Here, Nam was rewarded by the board of directors with 5 million VND for an initiative. Together with the maintenance team with Nam, Mr. Nguyen Truong Son remembered as printing that year that the cooling system had a problem that made the fish "cold " not sold.

The company was puzzled to call for many experts to install the system to Vung Tau and the whole group of Saigon electricians to repair but nearly two weeks had not changed.'When people' messed up like cheeks', Nam asked the board of directors to let him repair. After nearly a week of hard work, people finally burst into joy when the cooling system worked out a source of fish products back to the standard '- Mr. Son said.

Two inventions won

Because of his life, his wife went to Saigon to cook for a restaurant, he had to quit his job, be an electrician at home to raise his children. At the time of watching the radio, watching the workers have to go deep in the sewage pipes in distress, he wondered, researched and invented a multi-purpose vacuum cleaner and a robot with clean and active hands .

Mr. Nam's two inventions in turn won the third and second prizes of Tra Vinh province's Technical Innovation Contest (2012-2013) organized by the Department of Science and Technology of Tra Vinh province.

In addition to repairing mechanical and electrical works at home and receiving withdrawals for living, Mr. Nam continued to think and invent new inventions. In 2014, farmers reacted violently due to insufficient power supply for running aeration in shrimp farming, he continued to research and publish with the Department of Science and Technology of the province about saving products. electricity used in shrimp farming.

Functional authorities verify efficiency and conclude that the device reduces more than 50% of power consumption compared to old equipment.'My own electricity-saving device sold more than 100 pieces for 5.7 million dong / piece' - Mr. Nam said.

Mr. Tran Van Nhan (head of specialized management department of Tra Vinh Department of Science and Technology, member of the jury of the second technical innovation competition in Tra Vinh province) said two robot inventions clean hands and machine Mr. Nam's multi-purpose suction has helped to pump the garbage, drain the sewers in a convenient and efficient way and avoid risks for people when they have to go deep into the bridge.

The specialized agency has also tested the use of electricity-saving equipment in Mr. Nam's shrimp farming and resulted in a reduction of more than 50% in power consumption compared to the equipment used by shrimp farmers before.

'Mr. Nam's inventions have helped so many poor farmers' - Mr. Nhan commented.
