The smartest dog in the world
Scientists are stunned to learn that a dog in Austria is capable of distinguishing 340 words, while most of its fellow humans can only remember 15 commands.
According to the BBC, the dog is named Betsy. To demonstrate the great memory ability of a 7-year-old dog, the owner displays a few dozen objects near it. Every time she read the name of an object, the dog immediately took out the object quickly. The owner said, since four to five months old, Betsy began to show the ability to link objects to their names. Since then the owner spends a lot of time training the animal to remember the names of the surrounding objects.
A scientist from Max Planck Research Institute (Germany) conducted tests to check the number of words that Betsy could remember. She confirmed it could remember the names of 340 objects. With this ability, Betsy is listed as the smartest dog on the planet.
