According to BMKG, on August 27, Terra and Aqua satellites discovered 297 hot spots due to forest fires in the whole province of Riau, significantly increasing compared to the 37 hotspots of the previous day.
Hot spots have created haze that pollutes the air in towns and districts of Riau province. Haze also reduces visibility in Pekanbaru about 500 meters on the morning of August 27.
