The strange mystery of the village is 2cm higher each year

Scientists believe that every year, the Willand village's ground will grow 2 cm mysteriously, no one can explain.

Through the research, scientists from a University of Nottingham company found an elliptical area with a radius of 2 km in Willand, a small village in Devon, rising about 2cm per year. This phenomenon often occurs in abandoned mines, but around Willand there is no such terrain.

Dr. Andy Sowter, Technical Director of GVL, said: "We often see such an elevated terrain in the area where there is mining activity and when the pump is turned off, water gradually re-infiltrates into the soil. But I contacted the British Geological Society to ask if there was any mining activity in this area before and the answer was no. Willand was in the middle of a normal area, without mineral deposits. we don't know what's going on ".

According to experts, the reality is that both urban areas and the surrounding areas of Willand Village are rising at the same time indicating the cause comes from deep underground . They are concerned that this situation is related to large-scale leakage or discharge activities.

Dr. Sowter also added: "The whole village is moving. I think the government needs to come here to investigate and find out what is going on. If this is not a natural phenomenon, there must be something. something is going on underground. It is important that we find out ".

Willand villagers do not seem to notice the change and because the whole ground in the whole area increases, structural influence does not seem to happen. However, scientists fear the rising ground will impact the high-speed rail line that runs through the area and on the M5 motorway.

It is known that Willand is a quaint little village attracting tourists in the UK because of its picturesque scenery. Willand owns rich gold fields and rich villages, a beautiful village like a picture carved into a hillside.

Besides, mentioning the UK we can not ignore the beautiful small villages but have the charm "charm" with great scenery such as: Clovelly village, Devon; Lacock village, Wiltshire; Shaftsbury, Dorset village; Kersey village, Suffolk; Chiddingstone, Kent village .
