The telescope sees the formation of the universe

Mexican President Vicente Fox has inaugurated a giant telescope in the mountainous state of Puebla. With this telescope, scientists hope to see the process of birth of the universe.

The antenna of this telescope is 50 meters in diameter and is now the largest in the world (in this category). This telescope can catch waves that have traveled through the universe for the past 13 billion years.

The telescope is called the Large Millimeter Telescope (LMT) worth $ 120 million and is funded mostly by the US. LMT is located on the Sierra Negra tops, a crater is off and the fifth highest mountain in Mexico. It is known that the atmosphere is so thin that it must always be stored in the oxygen tanks to prevent fainting.

Speaking at the inauguration of LMT, Jose Guichard, director of the National Institute of Astrophysics said: "This telescope will allow us to discover important things about the formation and evolution of galaxies, stars as well as the origin of the universe ".
