The world's fastest train to operate in China

A train linking Beijing and Shanghai with speeds up to 350 km / h will be put into service in September.

South China Morning Post said the ships named Fuxing will officially come into operation from September 21. The train is named after one of the great goals of Chinese President Xi Jinping.

As planned, the ships will travel at 350km / h and take only 4 hours and 55 minutes to go from Beijing to Shanghai. Passengers will be charged $ 83 for economy class.

Before that, the Chinese government tested the speed of 350 km / h on some stretches of the Beijing-Shanghai route last month. The test results led them to believe that the train would operate at greater speeds in the future. Xinhua said the maximum speed of the train could reach 400km / h.

Beijing - Shanghai is one of the most popular journeys of Chinese people with annual visitor arrivals of 600 million.

Earlier, Beijing called for efforts to protect the bullet-train technology after the US launched an investigation into China's illegal trade.

Since 2004, the technology of the Chinese super-speed boat has made great strides by collaborating with leading technology companies such as Germany, France and Japan. Foreign partners sign technology transfer contracts with the Chinese government, allowing them access to the billion-dollar market.

China has been concentrating on developing super-speed boats for the past 10 years, since the first super speed train between Beijing and Tianjin was opened in 2008.

By the end of 2016, China owns about 22,000 kilometers of high-speed rail, accounting for two-thirds of the global speed rail. This figure is expected to increase to 30,000km by 2020.
