The world's largest 3D printing house

The world's largest 3D printer, BigDelta, is capable of building cheap, affordable huts from clay by printing continuously.

Inspired by traditional clay house construction and architecture methods, the World Savings Project (WASP) has created a 12-meter high-resolution 3D printer called the BigDelta . The operating principle of a machine similar to conventional 3D printing machines is larger but still lightweight and easy to transport, assembled.

The support frame for the giant nozzle moves in circles, slowly spraying the material by layer, layer by layer forming the walls and other parts of the house.

BigDelta is said to be the solution to the problem of poor housing . According to UN data, by 2030, about 4 billion people with annual income below $ 3,000 are in need of affordable housing. WASP says that devices such as BigDelta are needed to replace heavy, expensive and expensive construction methods.

BigDelta can build houses from mud, clay, water and natural fibers to minimize costs, while not affecting the environment such as cement. Over and above, clay houses do not need maintenance much when damaged and it can last for many years by applying new clay layers to the exterior of the home every 5 years or so.

Building a house with a 3D printer has been done before, but never as fast as BigDelta. In 2014, a Chinese company created a separate assembly process for 3D printers to build homes for less than $ 5,000. With BigDelta, clay huts look simpler, quicker and cheaper.
