Looking at this image, you guess what it is?A flower or some weird creature?

Do you feel it's something scary? But the answer will probably surprise you. In fact, this is what is recorded in the throat of a Loggerhead sea turtle (Vietnamese name is Quan Quan Turtle).

Most people will probably only see the appearance of a turtle without really knowing what it is like in their body.

So, when I discovered an unfortunate Loggerhead turtle stuck in the cold weather of Cape Cod, researchers at Woods Hole Marine Institute in Massachusetts learned to solve this question.

Therefore, experts found in the neck of Loggerhead turtles contained thousands of small spikes that looked like giant teeth.

The thorns will act as sieves and prevent food from escaping their mouths when swallowing water.

Although it has such a horrifying shape, this is really a clever arrangement of creation when it helps the turtle to filter the food in the best way. The thorns will act as sieves and prevent food from escaping their mouths when swallowing water.

In addition to this "thorny" throat, Quan Dong tortoise also possesses an extremely strong teeth, capable of defeating relatively large prey. However, Loggerhead's favorite food is just crabs, jellyfish and many mollusks.

Reportedly, Loggerhead sea turtles are found in the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans, as well as the Mediterranean Sea.

With a yellow-brown mantle, the same shade of nacreous reddish-brown color, and an increasing number of species - Loggerhead turtles are placed in rare and precious aquatic goods, appearing in the list of wild animals and plants. The regulations of CITES, which are in danger of extinction, are strictly forbidden to catch, trade, transport, including their eggs.
