Hygiene in the event of an emergency in the natural disaster area is inadequate in many parts of the world.
A UNESCO team has developed a solar emergency toilet system , eSOS , for emergency sanitation in disaster areas.
This clever cleansing system is easy to transport and even recycle urine for clean water thanks to a bioreactor system.
The eSOS system includes a refueling unit, a global positioning sensor and a screen that monitors the accumulation of wastes. The system's data will be transferred to an emergency dispatch center so that it can determine what needs to be supported for the area's sanitation.
