Tomorrow the innovative robot competition begins

Vietnam Robocon Contest 2011 kicks off qualifying competition in the central region in Da Nang tomorrow.

Southern teams will compete from April 5 in Ho Chi Minh City; in the north from April 6 to 10, in Hanoi.

The organizing committee said that nearly 300 teams participated in this year's Robocon event. After these matches, 32 will enter the final round that takes place from May 9 to 15 in Danang.

The winner of the first prize will represent Vietnam to Thailand to attend the international Robocon finals in late September.

2011 Robocon has the theme "Loy Krathong - Friendship lighting joy". Loy Krathong is a traditional Thai ceremony to show respect for the river goddess. Some elements of the traditional Loy Krathong festival will be applied to the features of a robot in this competition.

Last year, LH LED team of Lac Hong University won the domestic competition and then won the second prize at Robocon Asia Pacific in Egypt.
