Tracing the source of the mysterious explosion off the Italian coast

The pillars of water exploded mysteriously in the middle of the Tyrrhenian Sea, surprising the scientists, but they said that a solution was now found.

On March 16, fishermen operating near the islands of Montecristo and Pianosa recorded the phenomenon of water pillars projecting about 30cm above the sea surface. This phenomenon, occurring in the Tyrrhenian Sea just west of Italy, surprised scientists to find a solution.

According to research by the Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology in Italy, this is a kind of seabed volcanic volcano capable of releasing large amounts of gas, creating water columns on the ocean surface.

The team has ruled out the sudden and sudden changes in sea temperature that are behind the water pillars. The Institute's study said that temperature-measuring cameras "show that there is no relation to temperature changes in certain areas".

The study said: "The results of the analysis of seawater chemistry showed a significant increase in methane concentration. The survey was conducted by remote controlled underwater media (command operated). vehicle - ROV) does not identify local temperature anomalies ".

The study added: "These factors narrow the potential hypothesis," before concluding this is "a kind of" mud volcano "in which a large amount of methane will escape."
