'Treasures' and thousands of years of comedy appear at the construction site

Archaeologists took a year to dig up the treasure at the construction site of the Virgin Hotel (Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom).

The land that is intended to make this hotel contains a "treasure" that includes many valuable historical artifacts.

The original treasure revealed many jewels dating back to 1,000 years, followed by knives, shoes and even a skull. Local archaeologists asked the hotel owner to pause construction for several months to excavate

But in the end, the archaeological work lasted more than a year because the archaeological team continued to dig up countless other precious things. The first is a stone ball that can be a "bullet" of a giant catapult, a cannon, a fireplace, ancient walls, a wooden structure, a medieval hole of garbage disposal. , water wells, ancient toys .

Later, they began to discover water ditches and walls, showing what they found not only a few antiques but a trace of an ancient town that had once reigned in Edinburgh thousands of years ago!

Archaeologist John Lawson (Edinburgh City Council) said: "This is one of the most important ancient urban excavations ever made in Scotland. We have found everything we hope to do. there will be at this excavation pit - where the archaeological date of the ark is 1,000 years old ".

According to him, this is just the beginning of the study. After excavating and bringing them back to the archives to make room for the hotel to continue construction, scientists will study these antiques in detail. Expected Virgin Hotel will be inaugurated in 2021 instead of 2020 as expected.
