Turkey successfully tried electromagnetic weapons faster than the US

According to the Times of Israel, the Turkish Army has successfully tested its electromagnetic weapons that can fire bullets faster than US similar weapons.

The test was conducted in collaboration with the Turkish Ministry of Defense and Defense Contractor Aselsan . As a result of the test, the electromagnetic gun (EMT) sent the bullet flying at speeds of up to Mach 10.

The successful test is considered a major event with Aselsan because it means that this defense contractor officially entered this period of producing high-tech EMT weapons.

Aselsan said, EMT technology designed to be used as a high-altitude artillery system can be effective at distances up to 300km. Reportedly, Aselsan has successfully carried out the first live firing tests from December 26 to 29, 2016, the bullet only flies at Mach 6.

And in the final test of July 2018 and in this November 2018, the bullet achieved unimaginable speed when it reached speeds of Mach 10. According to the introduction, in addition to ground attack and battleships, weapons Aselsan's electromagnetism can also be used in air defense missions.

The company said it will continue to develop this field and demonstrated the EMT prototype at the International Defense Exhibition held in Istanbul in early May 5/2017. With what has been achieved, Turkey is only inferior to Russia and has made its previous achievements in the field of electromagnetic weapons overshadowed.

Russia's Rossiyskaya Gazeta (RG) in March 2017 revealed that the Russian electromagnetic gun is currently being researched by the High-Temperature Research Institute (under the Academy of Sciences) in Shatura. 3 times faster speed than US electric cannon.

Alexey Shurupov, director of the Institute for High Temperature Research at the Russian Academy of Sciences in Shatura, said: "In lab tests, we tried electromagnetic guns to fire bullets weighing only a few dozen grams of flying. at speeds of up to 6.25km / s (22,500km / h), this speed is very close to level 1 space speed ".

With the terrifying speed of the bullet made by the above-mentioned laboratory in Russia, no protective layer of the current resilient military equipment, from warships, tanks and airplanes. And it is said that it is three times faster than the speed of the American artillery in the test (7,000km / h).

According to the leading experts on defense, success with electromagnetic weapons can alter the nature of future naval battles. Because compared to rockets, electromagnetic weapons have many advantages in terms of cheap cost, easy storage and high combat performance. In fact, no matter how large a battleship is, it only carries a certain number of missile bullets.

When used up to reload, the battleship is forced to return to the port or a dedicated system for reloading. Electric weapons do not need this because the small ammunition structure, which can be easily transported like conventional artillery shells, is even resupply at sea. In combat operations, missile bullets that may be affected by the jamming factor may miss the target if the navigation system is disabled. For electromagnetic weapons not.

The ability to fly inertia, supersonic speed, attack warheads have small cross-sectional reflections so blocking or interfering with them is almost impossible. With a large warhead velocity, the destructive ability of an electric artillery shell fired out was no different from the warheads carrying heavy explosives.

With the speed achieved with the beginning of the production process, Turkey is considered the first country in the world to bring electromagnetic weapons into practical applications.
