Two births were separated right ... 9 months

An English mother shocked the doctors with a seemingly 'impossible' medical feat: 2 consecutive births only 9 months apart.

Taking care of a newborn child can be extremely hard. However, the difficult burden was multiplied for Claire Ormrod, 26, from Rhyl, northern Wales, who gave birth to two children in just nine months.

The special thing about Ormrod's two children is that they survived despite premature births in the 25th and 29th weeks of pregnancy, and their mothers experienced dangerous complications in both pregnancies.

Alice was born before the expected birth of 15 weeks and weighed only 0.54kg. While his younger brother Gareth was a bit heavier (0.9kg) when he was born 11 weeks earlier than expected.

Alice and Gareth's condition was so serious that both premature babies had to be in the special care rooms of the two hospitals separated by 370km at the same time.

Ms. Ormrod said that Alice only had 25 weeks of short-term growth in the fetus because by that time she had a placental fracture, threatening to lose the baby in her belly. Even after giving birth to Alice by emergency surgery on December 6, 2011, doctors once advised her that it would be difficult to get through.

Alice suffers from a wide range of health problems, including chronic lung disease, heart and intestinal disabilities, oxygen breathing. She also suffered from a number of life-threatening infections and the lowest weight dropped to only 0.26kg. By 10 months of age, Alice continued to suffer from liver failure, suffered 6 heart attacks, convulsions and brain damage.

Currently, Alice is 13 months old and weighs 5.84kg. Doctors don't know exactly how much I suffer. She must still be fed through a tube attached to the stomach. I can't swallow or sit, and just like a newborn.

The mother further revealed that, after only seven weeks after Alice, she was "sticking" to the next child despite taking birth control pills.

Although she was born prematurely by caesarean section on September 7, 2012, Gareth was better than her. The boy took 8 weeks in the hospital's intensive care room before being allowed to go home in November 2012. Currently, Gareth is over 4 months old and weighs 3.57kg.

The mother of the two are waiting for a surgery to sterilize, because Gareth, Alice before her, gave birth to three other children, Molly, 7, Jack, 5 and Charlie, 2.
