Chief Station No. 7 Le Van Quyet said, when discovered by forest rangers, despite running away, throwing away the gun and the body of 2 black-shanked douc but due to being armed, the bandits still provocative, ready to fight against the patrol if they prevent them from retreating.

"The recklessness and the serious nature of the violations are increasing. This is a very alarming signal," said Chu Yang Sin Luong National Park Director Vinh Linh.

According to the Government Decree, Black-shanked Douc is classified into group 1B, group of forest animals is strictly prohibited to exploit and use for commercial purposes. If violating the regulations, they can be sentenced to 9 months to 3 years. Last July, two people were sentenced to a total of 54 months in prison for killing Black-shanked Douc in Khanh Hoa.

Black-shanked Douc Langur (scientific name: Pygathrix nigripes ) is classified as globally endangered, according to IUCN and Vietnam Red Book. This is an animal with special values ​​in science and environment, the number of populations is very small in nature and is in danger of extinction.

The bandits often sell the bones of the muntjac to cook high because it is high in this species that can cure osteoarthritis and strengthen the body. However, there is no scientific document to prove this.
