Unique, beautiful, little-known photo angles about the red planet
When it comes to Mars, most of us think of a hot planet of fire color. However, the images posted on The Verge page recently will give us a completely different view of this "red planet".
The beautiful images recorded by HiRISE telescope inspired this book This is Mar s. The book includes 150 black-and-white photos taken naturally by HiRISE.
But by combining different color filters on the telescope, NASA researchers were able to create color versions of most of those images. They are called "false colors " because they are completely different from what the human eye can see. These images will be very helpful in helping researchers distinguish different components of the Martian landscape.
The HiRISE telescope is a state-of-the-art, high-resolution imaging device, mounted on the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter - the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. It sent to Earth nearly 30,000 images of Mars. These images are used by NASA's aerospace agency to find the best landing sites for exploration vehicles and assist researchers in learning more about the characteristics of the Mars surface.
