Unique humpback whale scene shaking hands with divers
The photographer captured the moment a 'handshake' diver with a humpback whale measuring nearly 16m - with a double-decker bus - in Hawaiian waters.
A remarkable encounter occurred when a diver was swimming with a group of friends off the coast of Hawaii. The group of swimmers are very close to the humpback whales and are only a few meters away from the whale's weight. Unexpectedly, the fish reached out to the diver peacefully. The unique sight of a large, bouncy, two-tier bus, swimming by the divers soon after, was recorded.
Photographer Masa Ushioda from Tokyo, Japan, moved to Hona, Hawaii and swam to divers to record unique underwater scenes.
The 43-year-old photographer said: 'This humpback whale with a white belly is very special, it is very friendly and curious about us. It held out its pectoral fins with us many times and tried to contact our bodies. Other male whales swim around this fish with a very aggressive attitude. They fight each other to win the white belly whale. '
The reunion took place at a depth of 15m underwater and Mr. Ushioda said it was the most interesting encounter he had spent with humpback whales.
Photographer Ushioda added: ' This female whale is very special because there are a lot of friendly whales in the ocean, but usually, they don't want to touch human bodies. In addition, this fish is swimming like a ballet in the water. '
However, another whale broke the peaceful atmosphere when blowing large bubbles creating sounds like bombs to attract males, ending the whale and human encounters.
'Suddenly, a female whale broke the silent atmosphere by blowing air bubbles to make a shrill sound like a bomb exploding under water. Due to the 800 cubic meters of seawater, the impact of the sound wave is very terrible and alarming. '
