These unmanned aerial vehicles will capture thermal images at train stations in the evening.

German railways suffered great damage because of the graffiti painters on board.

The Deutsche Bahn State Railways is about to begin testing these devices. The device consists of four helicopter-type propellers and can capture high-resolution photographs.

'We will use this technique in places where graffiti artists often work,' said a spokesman for Deutsche Bahn.

A remote "pilot" device is controlled to a height of 150 meters and speeds up to 54 km / h. An operator evaluates the images the company will use as evidence.

Deutsche Bahn said last year that the damage done by graffiti painters on the train was 7.6 million euros ($ 10 million).

Railway managers said they would use these devices to monitor the train stations. They are not located in public places and will be subject to the German law of prevention and control.
