Unusually cold weather in Thailand, 63 people were killed
Thailand's Nation newspaper said the unusually prolonged cold weather in the country in the past three months has killed at least 63 people.

In Bangkok, on the morning of January 23, the temperature dropped to 15.6 degrees Celsius, the lowest level in 30 years.
Thai Hydrometeor Ministry officials said this year's cold season in the country has been the longest in a decade.
About 45 provinces across the country have been identified as disaster areas due to the prolonged cold spell, with more than 25 million people affected.
The unusually long cold season, due to the cold air coming from the North, also affected the crop in Thailand.
According to Honorary Chairman of Thai Rice Exporters Association Vichai Sripraset, the upcoming harvest of rice is not of quality because the rice is blooming too early due to unusually low temperatures in the cold season.
