USA: California tracks crime through GPS systems

Picture 1 of USA: California tracks crime through GPS systems The State of California (USA) has just put into use a GPS gang tracking system (Global Positioning System) to increase security for this area.

The San Bernardino suburb of California has become the first place to use criminal tracking technology via GPS global satellite navigation. Six other California counties also use GPS to track those who have a rape history, helping police quickly "get out" when these criminals have "problems".

According to an agreement reached between prison officials and the San Bernardino government, dangerous people who are out of jail will be required to wear a GPS signal ring on their ankles so that the tracking system can detect any when.

When these people go into "sensitive" areas (usually the criminal area, or beyond the allowable range), the device sends an alarm signal to the center monitored by law enforcement agencies.

The University of California will be responsible for evaluating the results of the test program to draw the shortcomings to be addressed.
